Cross Country Skiing

Experience the winter in a different way: intense and close up. Discover the winter wonderland of Gerlos during cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiing is a way of moving through the snow while using a special type of ski’s. Your heart and blood circulation, respiration and the metabolism will improve! Cross-country skiing is a healthy sport for everyone, young and old!

Schoenach valley - Stinkmoosalm cross country ski trail (approx. 6km)
Innertal - Alpina - Schoenachtal cross country ski trail (approx. 6 km)
High-altitude cross country ski trail on the Gerlosplatte (approx. 7km)

We start from the Oberwirt parking lot and cross the "Gerlosbach" bridge. Along the right side of the stream shore, the cross country ski trail leads us to the entrance of the Schönachtal valley. At the end of this trail in about 15 minutes by foot on the cleared hiking trail into the inner valley, you will reach the "Stinkmoosalm" cross country ski trail. This trail partly goes over a hilly terrain and it is one of the most beautiful and most popular cross country ski trails of Gerlos. After a short walk, at the end of this cross country ski trail you will reach the "Jausenstation Lackenalm" and get a snack.

Innertal - Alpina - Schoenachtal cross country ski trail (approx. 6 km)

We start again from the Oberwirt parking lot but this time turn immediately to the left, along the left side of the stream shore up to the underpass opposite to the Alpina hotel. There we go on the cross country ski trail along the dam to the Innertal valley Funsingau.

Difficulty: easy

High-altitude cross country ski trail on the Gerlosplatte (approx. 7km)

The highest cross country ski trail (circuit) of the Gerlosplatte (1,640 m) is situated in the national park "Hohe Tauern". Go by car to the "Gerlosplatte" (toll sticker required). Starting point at the Gerlosplatte sport hotel. (10 minutes).
